Animal Abodes Microchipping Animals and Pets with Peddymark
If you have arrived at this page the chances are you have a pet you wish to protect with a Microchip. As a responsible pet owner you will want to make sure that the products and the people you choose to help you achieve this, care as much about your pet as you do. It is also important that you receive value for money.
Every year more than 300,000 animals go astray in the UK alone. Most of them cannot be returned home because their owners cannot be identified. The lucky ones end up in an animal home.
Microchipping is the most effective way of identifying a lost pet, chips don’t come off like collars can. If they are handed in to a charity, or a vet, or (God forbid) the worst happens and they are collected by the Cleansing Department, they will always be scanned for a microchip. Even if the news is bad, at least you will know what happened to your pet. This is far preferable to spending the rest of your life wondering.
We will come to your home for the procedure, your pet will feel even less stress being micro-chipped in the familiar surroundings of their own home.
Prices start from £15 each for a litter of 3 or more to £20 for a single animal within the Oldmeldrum, Inverurie, Kintore area. There would be a travel charge of £5 for agreed areas outwith these areas. Vets charge between £18 to £26 for microchipping so for the stress free option in your home this is good value for money.
Each PeddyMark microchip has a unique number which is stored on a national database owned by the Kennel Club called PetLog. A quick scan of the chip by a dog warden, shelter or Vet reveals the owner’s name and address and contact numbers from the database’s records therefore reuniting the animal with its owner quickly with the minimum amount of stress for all involved.
This procedure is very simple and is no more painful than any other injection between the shoulder blades. A pet will not be aware of the microchip’s presence under the skin once it has been implanted. It is important that a trained implanter or a Vet carries out the microchipping.
The Peddymark ID162 device is an 11.5mm x 2mm bio compatible capsule containing a microchip. The chip is passive and does not contain a power source therefore will effectively last forever. The Peddymark microchip is activated by the reader and transmits a globally unique identification number to a reader where it appears on the LCD display. The technology is standardised and conforms to ISO standard 11784/11785 and it can be used for virtually any pet.
For your peace of mind PeddyMark complies with the BSAVA (British Small Animal Veterinary Association) Code of Conduct for Microchip Distributors.
